COVID 19 - UK AND SPAIN

On Tuesday past,  Nicola Sturgeon said that Spain was now a Go-Go destination for Scots as there would be no requirement to quarantine on return to Scotland.  Today,  Saturday,  the same Ms Sturgeon advised that as of now EVERYONE returning to Scotland from Spain will  require to quarantine immediately for a period of two weeks.

We must be fair.  We have no criticism whatever of that decision which is the correct decision and which is Westminster policy also together with Wales and Northern Ireland  given the increase in Covid in Spain.   Holidaymakers go to Spain - or anywhere else for that matter - entirely at their own risk.  In present times,  going abroad on holiday is a pretty dumb thing to do and quarantine on return must be factored into the holiday,  tough luck.

Indeed,  had we been in government,  we would have gone further.  No one arriving in the UK from Spain would have been allowed to land in the UK,  full stop.
