One of the many reasons we don't like Scottish Nationalism - or Scottish Nationalists for that matter - is that every single aspect of their trade is based on a pack of lies. Nicola Sturgeon is no exception and that can now be proved over Covid - and never mind the disastrous interviews with Andrew Neil where she ended up getting stuffed rotten. Like her predecessor Wee Alex (remember him?), she is well-versed in bullshit but not remotely versed in hardcore facts.
Up till yesterday, and over a period of many weeks, Nicola was telling anyone and everyone who would listen that Coronavirus was five times lower in Scotland than in England. That was manifestly untrue and is something that can now be proved unequivocally.
Nicola's method of counting Coronavirus - like so much of her being - has been proved false, scuppered by unchallengeable statistics from the UK-wide Office for National Statistics. The ONS was being kind to Nicola when it said that Nicola's claims 'do not allow for a quantified and uncaveated comparison of the kind that she made'. In other words, and let's be blunt, she really was talking bullshit.
The proper, and only, way of counting death statistics is by comparing the number of deaths in a particular country over a set period against the average for the same period in the previous five years per 100,000 of the population and irrespective of the method of counting contributory factors. On that basis, for the over 65s in European countries, England led the table with a figure of 7.88%, Spain was second with a figure of 7.34% and Scotland third with 5.11%. For the under 65s, England was top with a figure of 5.65 and Scotland second with a figure of 3.42%.
These statistics bear no relation to Nicola's claim. England has, of course, many more cities and metropolitan areas than Scotland so that, if levelled out, Scottish and English statistics would be more or less identical.

Try again, Nicola, and, for once in your life, tell the truth.
