We are not, exactly, shy retiring types ourselves but even we are astonished at the photo-opportunity antics of someone in our midst.
Whether it is having a photograph taken with Royalty, to innumerable television appearances, to promoting a million profiles with the local landowner, to promoting self-certified expertise in agricultural matters and to promoting a profile with a national angling magazine this individual is there, self-promoting non-stop and seeking honour after honour. No opportunity for a photo or to raise one's profile is allowed to pass by.
This naked self-aggrandisement is like nothing we've ever seen before. It's a delusory illness with no insight whatsoever and deteriorates and degenerates into behaviour more Royal than the Royals but without the style - and from an ardent Scottish Nationalist at that!!! There is no cure.
For the rest of us, meanwhile, it's utterly cringeworthy and embarrassing. It's a pity we cannot escape it.
