At long last, Mr Duckenfield has been cleared of the serious charges against him by a jury of his peers. It was, in our view, a shocking decision to prosecute those allegations, not only once but twice, in a case of error of judgement in a fast-moving situation.
From what we've seen, there appears to be another agenda altogether behind this prosecution. Certainly, the agenda of Fairness did not form part of the decision.
Those involved should reflect on what they did and why they did it.
