The big sporting story in Scotland this week has not, for once, been about Steven Gerrard or Neil Lennon but about the quite astonishing salaries paid to the high heid yins at the Scottish Rugby Union under their 'Long-Term Incentive Plan' to hit 'Strategic Initiatives and Targets'.
The Chief Executive, one Mark Dobson, has had his salary doubled to £933,000 YES ..... nearly one million pounds sterling!!!! Other officials have seen corresponding increases. And Lord only knows what salaries those guys would have the brass neck to award themselves if Scotland played even one decent game of rugby.
It is hardly credible. It is a major scandal - and enough to put you off rugby for life.
