WORKPLACE PARKING TAX (1)

Those whom the gods would destry they first make mad.  No,  those are not our words but those of one of the great ancient philosophers and they are as true today as ever. We are seeing the fall - from a very great height - of Scottish Nationalism and we are  rejoicing.

We are referring,  of course,  to the Workplace Parking Levy introduced to parliament a few days ago by that idiot of a Scottish  Finance Secretary,  Derek Mackay. It means that where it is introduced by local councils,  staff will have to pay £400 per year per parking space allowed at work.  Truly,  only an idiot like Mackay could have processed such an idea in what passes for his mind.

To make matters worse,  Mackay (better known in political circles as Derek the Dalek) complained that,   to get his Finance Bill through parliament,  he had to seek the support of the Green Party - led by one Patrick Harvie -  and the price of Harvie's support was the Workplace Parking Levy.  It makes the dodgy deal Theresa May brokered with the DUP look positively decent.

Harvie was a youth-worker prior to becoming as MSP and he has most certainly brought his  juvenile brand of Trotskyist politics with him to Holyrood.  Mackay and the nationalists will never live down jumping into the sack with this lot.

Lord help us.
