Earlier in the week, Tasmina, Alex Salmond's partner in Russian Television, was found guilty of Professional Misconduct before a Scottish Solicitors' Disciplinary Panel following some money having gone AWOL from the solicitors' firm she was co-running. She was censured and fined £3,000.
Tasmina told the press she was 'delighted' to have been cleared of 'financial impropriety' but admitted the lesser charge of failing to record the firm's accounts properly. As laywomen, we are not quite sure what the difference actually is. She is reported as wishing to return to law.
Tasmina was, of course, SNP MP for somewhere in the Central Belt from 2015-2017. It is fair to say that she was a controversial figure as a politician and not least because of her close association with Mr Salmond. She was regarded as the blue-eyed girl of the Nationalists. Prior to the Nationalists, she had been both a Labour and Tory activist. A true carpet-bagger, in other words, but it's comforting for the rest of us that, at last, she has found her political spiritual home.
Where will Tasmina turn up next?
