We know we are often behind the times and get overwhelmed when least we expect it, but others are far less lackadaisical, in particular Dr Wilson or, simply, Dave, to his friends. Usually, he is out the trapdoor like a shot from a Kalashnikov but, on the matter of the Caledonian Macbrayne strikes, he is strangely reticent with not one solitary word from his keyboard.
In that, he is at one with his political colleagues the length and breadth of the west coast from Sutherlandshire to Galloway. Not a word has come from any of them. Obviously, they are all on-message from the nationalist government to stay silent.
Who said that centralised, totalitarian stalinism was dead? Not here in Bonnie Scotland it certainly is not. Stalin lives, OK?
