We picked up from the media yesterday that the second CalMac strike, scheduled for today, has been called off following assurances from the Transport Minister, Derek MacKay, that the nationalist government would 'look again' at the RMT Union's demands for their members.
The government is doing nothing of the sort. They are simply allowing themselves more time in which to manoeuvre and rethink the dog's breakfast they have created.
We have long taken an interest in Transport Minister MacKay and, frankly, we wouldn't believe one solitary word of anything he says. He is easily the slipperiest eel in the nationalist barrel.
