As ever, we deliberated for a good few minutes this morning as to which newspaper to take from the stands. On such momentous occasions, we like to think we spend our money wisely. However, today, we were so overwhelmed by the grinning image of The First Minister on the front page of The Herald that we simply had to take The Herald. That The First Minister was so very obviously in love with himself should have been a warning but we have always been very slow learners.
We paid £1.20 for the privilege. We went rather flat afterwards. We are now thinking that we were stung and that we would have been far better off taking both the Daily Mail and the Sun. We could have had both for the sum of £1 exactly.
And we would not have had to endure the torture of seeing politicians being 'awarded' honours by those whose function should be to p--- on politicians from a very great height.
