While we have long regarded Angus Brendan MacNeil as an embarrassment as our elected representative, he is most certainly not alone in dumbing down the House of Commons. Step forward Jim Sheridan, MP for somewhere around Paisley, as our political numpty of the week.
Jim has been in the news of late over remarks he is alleged to have made about journalists attending the House of Commons and, if what is reported is correct, he called them "parasites" or something to that effect. Why journalists are "parasites" for merely reporting on Parliament, Jim doesn't say.
And no mention of the biggest "parasites" of them all, those MP's who made sure that their nostrils were first in the public trough of expenses! Eh, Jim?
