We always thought it would come to this, that the BBC would cravenly give in to Lineker.
Frankly, we have never rated Lineker, or most of the pundits he has with him on MOTD for that matter. Lineker has a squeaky, moaning voice quite unsuited to broadcasting and we've always had a problem deciphering what Lineker's sidekick, Shearer, is on about. Both the BBC and Lineker's awful supporters forget that the star of the show is the football itself and certainly not Lineker or the pundits.
We are not a natural BBC basher but no wonder the Corporation is held in contempt by so many. Spineless Director-General Davie and the whole BBC Board must go.
