Dear, oh dear. This is getting worse, much worse.
We read this morning that Scotland's First Minister has referred herself to the ministerial panel that is supposed to investigate alleged transgressions by ministers. She did so despite maintaining that she 'acted appropriately and in good faith throughout, and in accordance with the ministerial code at all times'.
We have another take on it altogether and quite irrespective of anything that this panel of the great and the good might decide. If meeting on at least three occasions a man against whom two female civil servants made serious allegations, and having at least two telephone conversations with him, the First Minister believes that is 'acting appropriately throughout' - and quite irrespective of any ministerial code - then the First Minister has lost the plot completely. Indeed, it's derangement of the mind.
Time's up, Nicola. The men in white coats are never going to be far away.
