BREXIT IN THE ISLES (1)

This is our first post on Brexit.  No doubt there will be more to follow.

The way we see it is that,  on any balanced view,  membership of the European Community has been hugely beneficial to these peripheral islands that we inhabit.  That is not to say that we agree with all,  or even many,  of the EC's rules and regulations but,  on an overall basis,  there are many more positives than negatives.  We cannot say the same,  however,  about the ruling classes of the UK.

Firstly,  we have the Tories,  kicking and screaming at one another - and the country - like demented ferrets.  Secondly,  we have a Labour Party which,  to its eternal shame,  hasn't the foggiest idea what it is doing or where it is going.  Thirdly,  we have a Liberal Party (or the LibDems,  or something like that) that is completely and utterly unheard of.  Fourthly,  we have the Scottish Nationalists who bawl and scream and try and shout the loudest at anyone and everyone.  Fifthly,  we have the DUP who are off Planet Earth altogether albeit we support their position that Northern Ireland must be treated the same as every other part of the UK.

There is,  however, one matter that we remain adamant about.  No part of any agreement must pander to East Coast fishermen whose greed and avarice have for decades destroyed the waters surrounding our Western islands.
