So, farewell then, Sir Stephen House, the first and only Chief Constable of Police Scotland. You got few flattering reviews - indeed, the only one we are aware of is that of one Kenneth MacAskill, former Scottish Justice Secretary and fellow collaborator.
We should be celebrating, only we're not. Police Scotland remains an utter disaster and not least the shambles that passes for a police service in the Western Isles.
An added problem is that we have no faith whatever in MacAskill's successor, a wee man called Matheson.
