We know it's a sad occupation but, as neither the Stornoway Gazette nor the West Highland Free Press shows any interest in the matter, we have appointed ourselves to keep a wary eye out for what our esteemed parliamentarian, Angus Brendan, gets up to. Melinda at the Gazette appears reluctant to take Angus Brendan on while Ian at the WHFP appears much more interested in Lady Claire's food than in socialist politics. Whatever turns you on, as they say.
Keeping a wary eye out for Angus Brendan is quite easy, simply for the gross embarrassment he causes his constituency. For example, during the Commons debate on Scottish Devolution on 14 October, Angus Brendan was publicly rebuked by the Commons Speaker that "his apprenticeship still has a long way to go .......I advise him to assume the posture of a statesman". A fellow MP told Angus Brendan that he "has been a royal pain for the last ten minutes" of the debate.
The cause of the trouble? Yes, you've guessed it .....Angus Brendan yet again simply unable to keep his big mouth firmly shut.
