For the first time ever, we have taken an interest in what our parliamentarians are costing us. And, as might be expected, Angus Brendan doesn't come cheap.
Firstly, he has a salary of £66,396. Secondly, for 2012/13, he claimed £161,365.88 in 'expenses'. Thirdly, he had an allowance of £8,650 for postage-paid House of Commons stationery and envelopes. Unless our calculator has taken a funny turn, that makes a total of £236,411.88! Over the life of a five year parliament, this will be well, well over a million pounds sterling. Not bad for a tribune of the people from Barra!
And, oh, someone called Jane MacNeil is on the payroll.
