NATIONALIST-FREE WESTERN ISLES

It has taken many years but, at long last and following the recent Holyrood Election,  we have a Nationalist-Free Western Isles.  Alasdair Allan has bit the dust as Nationalist MSP after 19 depressing years and,  of course,  Angus Brendan had been shunted as Nationalist MP following the General Election of 2024.

We congratulate local boy,  Donald Mackinnon,  on his being elected Labour MSP.  As long as Donald remembers that politics here is local,  very local,  he'll do fine but he must avoid at all costs the Torcuil way of doing politics - say nothing,  do nothing and keep whistling in the wind.
