We really loved this story of the past few days. However, Nicola didn't and it sent her scurrying into the Holyrood lifts for protection from the reptilian press pack. Nicola has never been media-shy till now so that that alone tells us something has freaked her out in a very personal way.
It relates to her husband Paul Murrell's loan of £107,620 to the Scottish National Party on 26 June 2021. Any advance to a political party must be declared to the Electoral Commission within 30 days. In Murrell's case, the loan wasn't notified until 11 August 2022, some 14 months later. Instead of coming down on the SNP like a ton of bricks, the Electoral Commission simply offered the SNP 'guidance'. Pathetic.
There are many issues here. The first of those is that The Stalinista must come clean as to the circumstances and conditions of the loan and what she knew about it or even whether some of that money belonged to her. Another is whether interest for Mr Murrell is to be added when the loan is repaid and yet another is the propriety of an employee of a political party lending it money. The questions are endless but the overriding question is why was this loan ever made.
We're awaiting answers.
