Well, that didn't take long, did it?
UK Fishermen's Organisations are calling the Brexit deal a 'betrayal' as well they might. Fishing and UK territorial waters had long been portrayed by Brexiteers as the ultimate issue of 'sovereignty' and non-negotiable for the UK Government. The opposite has proved to be the case.
The chairman of the National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations - someone who should know what he's talking about - said he was 'angry, disappointed and betrayed' by the deal. He added that there was no doubt fishermen would be 'absolutely worse off'.
The reality of Brexit was that fishermen were simply expendable pawns for Conman Johnson and his extremely motley band of English Nationalist MPs such as Rees-Mogg, Bone (Bone-Head), Duncan Smith, Cash, Redwood (Dr Spock) and Co. Fishermen, like so many others in Brexit-voting areas, were fools to believe a word of it. Of course, that was always going to be the case.
Not one of those English Nationalist MPs MPs has any interest whatever in the fishing industry. Not one of them could tell the difference between a haddock and an Aberdeen-Angus bull.
Brexit at any price.
