'Devolution has been a disaster for Scotland' said Boris Johnson a day or two ago talking to a group of Northern MPs. We agree wholeheartedly with Mr Johnson that that is how it has been turning ever since the SNP got its grubby hands on the tiller of state.
In the early days of Donald Dewar, it was obvious that Devolution could be a very good thing if used properly and for the benefit of the people of the country as a whole. Who can forget the early days and Dewar's almighty fight over Section 28 against the very unholy Triumvirate of Cardinal Winning, Brian (Soapy) Souter of Stagecoach infamy and the ghastly self-publicist, Jack Irvine? Fortunately, Dewar won.
Nowadays, we have an SNP government whose sole agenda is independence - and bugger the people. Since they won power in 2013, the SNP have destroyed Education, Health, Policing, Criminal Justice, Taxation, Roads, the Economy - the whole gamut, everything they've laid their hands on. Add to that child poverty, the dreadful toll of drugs deaths, the widening attainment gap and shortened life expectancy and Scotland truly is in Third-World territory.
Remember their infamous and illegal Named Person legislation? Remember the SNP's infamous march of thugs to BBC Scotland after TV presenter Nick Robinson made some remarks they didn't like? And remember how all SNP politicians to this day have to sign on the dotted line to agree with all Politburo decisions with no dissent allowed in true Stalinist style?
For once, we agree with Boris Johnson. Yes, Devolution to Totalitarian Rule as now exercised by the current idiots in an SNP Government has been a disaster for Scotland - and, with The Stalinette in charge, there's more damage to come.
