We thought at the outset that Police Scotland was going to be a national embarrassment. We simply ran the rule over its leadership and that was the only conclusion we could come to.
We now see that they are paying a huge amount of money - your money and ours, remember - for actors simulating ordinary, everyday policing situations. Quite what they are going to do with the end product, we have not been told.
But why they had to hire actors is quite beyond us, especially when so many of their senior officers are more than capable of acting - the goat, that is.
