The dismissal of the 83 year old Lady Susan Hussey from the Royal Household a few days ago is something that has troubled us greatly for two reasons (1) the speed at which she was pushed out the door and (2) in circumstances that did not remotely justify her exclusion.
Our view is that the matter has been handled badly and out of all proportion to whatever offence is alleged. We do not think for a solitary second that there was anything racist either intended or involved. The complainer has not impressed us one little bit ......... our intuition tells us to have the greatest reservation about the woman till we know more about her.
The Palace should re-examine the circumstances pronto and invite Lady Susan back to her post. It is a shocking state of affairs that demeans the Royal Household in general and Prince William in particular.
