It is long past time this problem was dealt with.
As soon as an insurance company had you in their clutches, they hiked the premium on renewal to way above the risk while new customers were offered a far better deal. Now, insurance companies providing motor and home cover will no longer be able to hike premiums on renewal as they did in the past and will be required by law to offer policies to existing customers on the same basis as for new customers.
We loathe insurance companies. They and banks are the biggest crooks on earth. You will find them involved in every scam going.
